We’ve deconstructed stuffed peppers, so you can make this comfort food favorite in just 30 minutes. With our recipe for Unstuffed Pepper Skillet, all the traditional ingredients for stuffed peppers cook in one skillet which means easy cleanup. Simply sauté turkey sausage, bell peppers and onions then stir in cooked rice and our tomato soup. Our tomato soup gives these Unstuffed peppers a deliciously unique flavor. Melted mozzarella gives them the perfect finish. You’ll feel extra good making this Unstuffed Pepper Skillet as it provides 2 servings of veggies and is an excellent source of protein and vitamin C.
Step 1
In a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat, cook the sausage until well browned, stirring often to separate meat. Pour off any fat.
Step 2
Add the peppers and onion to the skillet and cook until the vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally.
Step 3
Stir in the soup and rice and cook until hot. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Top with the cheese. Cover and let stand until the cheese is melted.
